Bernard Cheese

Bernard Cheese, born 1925, is one of our most celebrated artists. A fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, he studied at the Royal College of Art under Edward Bawden. He taught printmaking at St Martin’s and the Central Schools, becoming Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths College, London.

His work delights in the patterns to be found in the landscape, whether the vineyards of Provence, the hillsides of North Yorkshire or the Suffolk Coast. His work is included in many important collections, including H.M. the Queen, the V&A, MOMA NY and many others.
